Spike Spiegel, the main character of the Cowboy Bebop series, was born on Mars, and is 27 years old. He is a bounty hunter on a spaceship called the Bebop and travels space with his crew Jet, Faye, Ed & Ein.

Spike’s best friend’s name is Jet Black and his greatest rival is Vicious. While a member of the Red Dragon Syndicate, Spike and Vicious crossed paths. Vicious’ desire for power and Spike’s relative disinterest, fostered a rivalry between the two. Despite being very lazy, Spike is a skilled Jeet Kune Do martial artist. Also, the fact that he has an artificial right eye doesn’t affect his combat skills; he is very perceptive, well versed in weaponry, sleight-of-hand, and hand-to-hand combat. Spike is a very capable pilot and his fighter craft, the swordfish, is a fast and agile space fighter.

His iconic outfit was inspired by the equally famous anime character Arsène Lupin III and his signature weapon is a handgun called the Jericho 941.
